Summary:  We know Satan wants to steal, kill, and destroy.  (John 10:10)  What specifically does the thief want to take from us?  What should we guard and secure in our lives?

Samson had high times with the Lord, and low times doing his own thing.  It is so important for us to be steady, consistent, and solid.  Don’t get excited – stay excited and steady.

One day Samson met Delilah.  Satan used her to get to Samson.  Perhaps Samson felt that she loved him and cared deeply about him.

Note:  Your friends will help you get closer to God.  Your enemies will try to get you further from God.

Fact or feeling?  We must never let our feelings get in the way of facts.  Samson allowed his feelings to overrule the facts.   What is a fact?  Jesus said, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away.”  (Luke 21:33)

Don’t allow what you feel to get in the way of what the Bible says.  Don’t seek the opinion of the world (it will pass away) or the opinion of other people (their opinion doesn’t matter).  Stick with the facts, (the Word of God) not your feelings.  Facts saved Job and Joseph. Feelings destroyed Samson.

Now, let’s answer the question, what three things does Satan want to take from us?

Judges 16:21 – But the Philistines took him (Samson), and (1) put out his eyes, (2) and bound him with fetters, (3) and he did grind in the prison house.

The enemy wants to:

1)         Put out your eyes – Steal your vision

2)         Bind you – Kill your Praise

3)         Make you go around in circles – Destroy your direction

Let’s be on guard and protect these three areas of our lives!

Samson got what he wanted (Delilah), but lost what he had. He wished he had never met her!

Judas got what he wanted (30 pieces of silver), but lost what he had (his relationship with Jesus). He threw the silver down on the ground.  If you ever trade anything for Jesus, you have made a bad deal and a fatal decision.

Demas, King Saul, the list goes on, they got what they wanted, but they lost what they had.

Don’t ever allow that to be said about you.
